My Love for Photography
My journey with photography began in the first grade with a little camera that used 110 film cartridges and a flash cube stick—pure magic for a kid with a curious eye. A few years later, Polaroids made their way into my life, and I was completely captivated. Watching an image slowly appear right before my eyes felt like a miracle. Those instant snapshots of my siblings, pets, and backyard adventures were my first taste of storytelling through images.
From there, I moved on to disposable cameras, and waiting seemingly forever to have them developed. In college, I deepened my passion by taking a photography class at the community college. Armed with a fully manual Pentax K1000, I learned to shoot with intention and developed my images the old-school way—using an enlarger and chemical baths in a darkroom. It was hands-on, imperfect, and totally satisfying.
Later came point-and-shoots and my beloved compact Sony CyberShot, which I took everywhere. And then the iPhone arrived. Its convenience was unbeatable, and as the technology improved, I found less reason to invest in a "real" camera—especially one I'd worry about damaging or leaving in the car.
These days, I happily call myself an amateur iPhone photographer. It fits my life and lets me stay present in the moment. I've been fortunate to visit some of Earth’s most breathtaking places, and I’m so grateful to have a space to share a few of my favorite images. I hope they spark a little sense of wonder, just like they did for me behind the lens.
